Clubs/Team Leaders will be liable for £5 for each number board not returned at the end of the race (a deposit may be requested in some circumstances).

Clubs should appoint a Team Leader who will be present at the race and who will identify themselves through the entry system or in person at check-in on the day. That person is expected to 

• be aware of the MRC and FRA rules pertaining to Group A Marathon Races and the Winter Series Marathons in particular (particularly rules concerning safety) 
• to try to ensure that all team members who are required to wear bouyancy aids are doing so and decide if older/higher ranked paddlers in their team should wear them 
• ensure that any team member who has a medical condition which may affect their safety has taken appropriate precautions
• ensure that their team members' ability and experience is appropriate for the course
• attend the race briefing on the day and pass on any essential information to team members who did not attend, particularly in relation to safety or the course
• remain on site for long enough after the race to resolve any queries in the results and deal with any protests

Where there is no Team Leader, individual competitors (or parents/guardians of junior competitors) take on these responsibilies.

If a Winter Series race is cancelled/postponed, this page will be updated to reflect this as soon as possible. Any updates about possible cancellations (typically in the event of anticipated bad weather), will appear on the FRA website in the days leading up to the race.

There are no penalties for cancelled entries. If payment has been made in advance, a refund needs to be requested from the Treasurer either by email by midday Saturday or in person at the desk before check-in closes. If a payment has been made on the day, the entry must be withdrawn and a refund requested at the desk before check-in closes.  Refunds will be made to the individual/club who made the payment.
