Entrants Under 16 Years of Age

Parents/carers of children and young people under 16 entering this event give consent for their child / young person to participate in the event, and for photographs / video of them to be taken and used in accordance with Paddle Avon’s Photography & Filming Policy (if consent for photographs/video is not given then the Paddle Avon Welfare Officer shall be informed by email at welfare@paddleavon.club or the Event Welfare Officer shall be informed on the day of the event before racing commences). Parents/carers also give consent for Paddle Avon to act in loco parentis if an emergency medical situation arises and administer first aid and/or other medical treatment that in the opinion of a qualified medical practitioner may be necessary (in such circumstances all reasonable steps will be taken).

Team leaders entering under 16 club members for this event shall ensure that they have the above consents. On the day of the event, it is imperative that they have access to emergency contact details for all under 16 club members racing.

Children and young people under 16 shall be supervised by parents/carers and Team Leaders at all times when their child/young person is not on the water.

It is the responsibility of parents/carers and team leaders to inform the event organiser of any participant medical issues and/or conditions that could impact the safety of the participant while racing.
