Barking Winter Series marathon

Date: 17 December 2024

Location & Parking:

Check-in & launching will take place at the Barking & Dagenham CC clubhouse, 1 Porter House, Seawall Court, Abbey Road, Barking IG11 7GQ.

Parking has been arranged nearby but space is extremely limited, so car sharing is strongly advised wherever possible. Parking on neighbouring roads is free on Sundays and a map showing all the parking options is attached (see link).

All vehicles attending the race should send their registration details to the Race Organiser prior to the event. In particular, if you are bringing a trailer, or if you have mobility issues which will affect where you can park, please include this information.

Schedule:
8:45 - Check-in opens
9:45 - Check-in closes
9:45 - Race Briefing

10:00 - Competitors allowed on water to warm up

10:50 - Competitors muster towards the start line
11:00 - Race start
14:15 - Prize-giving

Please note that class eligibility for this series is determined by age on 1st November 2024.
"u" (under) means literally that - if you are 16 on 1/11/24 you are too old for u16 races.

Classes with low entries will be grouped - this will not affect points or medals.

The start order of classes will not follow class number order - the list of pre-entries and the expected start order will be made available on the day using a QR code.

Please note that, due to the nature of the river, the organisers regret that SUPs cannot participate at this venue.

Distances at this race:

All competitors will complete laps of the same course. There are no portages.

Classes 1-10 - 6 laps - 12km
Classes 20-25 - 4 laps - 8km
Classes 30-40 - 2 laps - 4km

See course map (attached & below)
