COVID-19
The event organisers have performed a COVID-19 risk assessment and therefore some procedures may be different from previous years, specifically No late entry or changes on the day No briefing on the day, all course and safety information will be available online before the race. A course map will be displayed on the day. Results will be posted directly online at https://entries.gbcanoemarathon.co.uk/, there will be no paper copies We encourage all competitors and spectators to test before attending, and please do not attend the event if you have any COVID symptoms or had contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 7 days

CHECK IN:
All Divisions check in from 9.00 – 10.30 - Team leaders only please. TL’s to inform check in of any, on the day race withdraws, or K2/C2 substitutions.
NO BRIEFING ON THE DAY – Notes will be posted on line and copies will be given to team leaders on booking in. Notification of new hazards will be given on the day.
ACCESS TO WATER & STARTS: Geoff Sanders U14 K2 Race 10.15am with 10.30am start Divisions 7, 8 & 9 at 10.40am with starts from 11.00am Divisions 6, 5,4,3,2, & 1 at 11.40am with starts from 12.00 noon Geoff Sanders U14 K1 Races 1.30pm with 1.45pm start
PRIZES: Prize giving will take place as soon as possible after the end of racing in the car park area.
ENTRY: Please use: entries.gbcanoemarathon.co.uk/entries system where possible FEES £9 per seat for adults £7 per seat for juniors £3 per seat Geoff Sanders U14’s. Event ticket £5 + race fee – paper ET only, so please hand in to booking in desk. Fees either cash or cheque, payable to Shropshire Paddlesport, or direct to 40-35-32 acc 51531468. Stripe facility not available at the moment.
FOOD & DRINKS: Light refreshments will be provided for all competitors after the races. Other food and drink will be available for purchase. PARKING Car park is located about .25 mile from the clubhouse, cross the first bridge over the canal. Paddle from the bridge to clubhouse. If drop off needed use lay-by near club to unload.
RULES: The race will be run in accordance with the current BC Marathon Rules. All division 7, 8, & 9 and Geoff Sanders paddlers must wear approved buoyancy aids. All boats must have buoyancy to keep the boat and crew afloat in the event of a capsize and be fitted with a white number plate. The race will be held in accordance with BC marathon racing rules. A BC event fee of £5.00 is payable as per rule 12b.
