Directions - Exit M4 at Junction 12 and follow A4 signed to Theale and Pangbourne. At 2nd roundabout turn right onto the A340 to Pangbourne. As you enter the village turn right at the first mini roundabout then left at the next mini roundabout at The George Hotel. Go under the railway bridge and take 2nd turn right into the public car park. Entrance to the meadow car parking is directly on your right.
There will be a charge of £1 to park on Pangbourne Meadow.
COVID -19
This event will operate under government Covid guidelines current at the time of the race and those guidelines published by British Canoeing. This event will be run under the Marathon Racing Rules as in the racing handbook/on the MRC website.

GDPR – Personal data will only be used for the purpose of entering and producing results for the race. It will only be held until the conclusion of the race when the results will be passed on to the MRC to store.

SAFETY:
Pangbourne Canoe Club and its nominated officials cannot be held responsible for any loss of life, limb or equipment however caused. Canoeing and Kayaking are ‘assumed risk’ – ‘water contact sports’ that may carry attendant risks. Participants should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own action and involvement. In the event of ‘Red boards’ being displayed at either Whitchurch or Mapledurham the event will be cancelled and all entry fees returned.
BOAT BUOYANCY- Competitors responsibility
Competitors must render their boats sufficiently buoyant to remain afloat and support the crew when filled with water. (See rule 5b i on page 6 of the Racing Handbook.)
Marshals will be carrying out random checks.
At this event any boat that is not compliant with the above directive will be refused entry onto the water.
BUOYANCY AIDS
These are compulsory for all paddlers ranked in Division 7, 8, 9 and GS A/B/C irrespective of the class entered. This applies across age categories and in singles and doubles. Team leaders should decide if other paddlers should wear them according to prevailing conditions.
Pangbourne Canoe Club reserves the right to make all paddlers wear buoyancy aids if conditions require it.
Team Leaders/Representatives:
Please notify the race organisers if you are supporting any paddler with specific health needs.
Please ensure your competitors READ the briefing notes even if familiar with the race, as we have had to make changes in the past at a late stage.
Site Information
The Dolphin Centre will be open with a one-way system in place. We ask that everyone wears a face mask when inside.
Entry by the front door and follow the arrows!
Race check in for TEAM LEADERS ONLY will be upstairs in the hall.
Toilets will be open but the Changing Rooms will be closed
Pangbourne meadow is a public place, please keep dogs on a lead
Access to the course is via the Thames Path, please respect all other users especially at the portage
Refreshments
Light refreshments will be provided for competitors
Other food will be available for sale
